(26 November 2009) Suzi Lauder has broken into the recording business with her debut twelve-track album The Mermaid in High Heeled Shoes. The artist started her working life first as a model, actress and choreographer which led to her working for BBC Pebble Mill on a regular basis, where she has appeared in many commercials. Suzi was hostess on game shows, and was a regular with Jeff Banks on Pebble Mill at BBC One.

Suzi has appeared with Petula Clarke, Bucks Fizz, Lord Lichfield, Mike and Bernie Winters, Chris Tarrant, and performed for Princess Margaret. Having appeared in the pilot of a comedy series called Complete Bananas, she played several of the key characters, and has co written a couple of the sketches.

After several years of extensive travelling as a result of her modelling and acting, Suzi settled in the middle of England, and began performing and singing and providing entertainment for the corporate world. Suzi soon found herself with a management deal working in a woman band called iKnow where she recorded with top producers Nicky Graham and Andrew Neve.

Suzi is also working in collaboration with Roy Hemmings in the 60s Soul and Motown tribute show called The Krystaletts (MySpace) where together with Georgie Green and Haley Berrisford the three are successfully bringing back the wall of sound and telling the story of Soul around the UK.

In between dancing, singing and song writing Suzi also works as a voice over artist, and is in her fourth year advanced training in Transactional Psychotherapy. Having recently moved to a country cottage in the village of Arrow about ten minutes from Stratford-upon-Avon, Suzi is back into writing, and when she's not writing, singing or studying, she’s sleeping.

Suzi began collaborating with her current working partner David Saylor over fourteen years ago and began a long-lasting alliance, one that has been going strong, both in performing together as entertainers all over England, and as song writers.

As the primary output of this partnership, Suzi released her debut solo album The Mermaid in High Heeled Shoes (GAP Music (UK), 2009). The album is currently available in digital format from online sellers including amazon.com in the USA and amazon.co.uk in the United Kingdom.

In addition to Suzi's vocal work, the album's instrumental work is provided by David Saylor (guitars, percussion), Peter Hartley (violin), Alvin Davis (sax, brass), Jon Dewsbury (piano). The album was produced by Suzi Lauder and David Saylor). The album's standout track is the radio friendly, upbeat number "That Moment In Time," featuring the bright violin work of Peter Hartley.

Suzi's debut album is a diverse collection of blues, light swing, pop, heart felt ballads and country-styled tunes. There is also a flair for Celtic and African that rings into the arrangements. Listen to her rich voice glide atop the warm instrumentation that provides the foundations for the warmly delivered lyrics. Soft harmony vocals add great texture to several of the tracks. The acoustic guitar-tinged "I want u I need you" is a lovely heart-felt country-styled ballad that closes the album.

The well-produced easy listening album is a tremendous debut that illustrates the range of Suzi's repertoire and the talent she has extended into to the recording industry. This will surely not be the artist's first release and we look forward to further projects by the actress, singer and songwriter, in the years to come.
